The Hoppings (OR THE PASSING SHOW)
The Hoppings is Europe's largest travelling funfair, which visits Newcastle's Town Moor every June. And while I do photograph the Fair when it is open my main interest lies elsewhere. The fairground folk themselves, the set-up and break-down, not to mention the land itself - knee high grass when the Fair arrives, trodden down by the time it goes a fortnight later. A passing show, if ever I saw one.
