The Absent Gardener

This work was made, like so many of the images shown elsewhere on this site, during and just after the Covid pandemic. I was fascinated to see how much nature had reclaimed on some local allotments, and also I was struck by the thought that these pictures offered a metaphor for absence and, perhaps, loss. This project was made almost entirely on 35mm film, usually with vintage cameras and lenses.

A beautiful series of fine art photographs of a year at an allotment site. Made at the end of Covid, these pictures show man vs nature.
