RICHARD SIMPSON - PHOTOGRAPHS 2017-PRESENT
I was diagnosed with a serious illness in 2017, and since then I've made work as if my life depended on it. As the great Bill McLaren (almost) said: 'a day away from photography is a day wasted.'
These images are a psychogeography of sorts, finding meaning in all sorts of subjects and themes; including absence, loss, memory, the creative impulse, consumerism, humour and more.
So please, fill your boots. And welcome to SHADOWLAND.
